........I confess a soft spot for Flying V's, but I can't stand the '67 style V's that Gibson puts out......I think a lot of guys are with me there because there seems to be a lot of these Epiphone '58 V's that get the repro Gibson logo and upgraded pickups like this one will:

For $329 with the hardshell case I figured, WTF right? Plays great and sounds good acoustically so there's no reason she shouldn't be a winner-on-the-cheap with some electronic upgrades!!!

Hell yes.
A great pickup will make that guitar a monster.

What kind are you getting? High Order?

That's cool...

I didn't know you could get aftermarket Gibson logo's...

How do you apply them to the headstock?

I may get HighOrders for this one too...except that my Les Paul that I bought a few months ago still doesn't have any of Jeff's magic yet. Or I've got a Rio Grande Texas that would go nicely in the bridge, and an old late-70's DiMarzio PAF for the neck..........

The repro logos for these are on eBay all the time, they just glue on. I haven't removed the 'Epiphone' from the headstock yet but I swear it's just a sticker!!

I got me one of them too, Andy! Great guitar for the $$, eh?

I haven't decided what pick up's to put yet either. I've got an extra set of Duncan JM/JB's I'm thinking of dropping in.

It's damn good for the money (even better used!!!) :D :D

I think my wife agreed so fast because it reminded her of the red Hamer V I used to have. I had to pawn it off so we could get our first apartment deposit. I have missed that guitar for a long time.

Is that the Korina one? Or is it just my cheap monitor? Has a yellow tinge to it.

That has the Korina body and maple neck, right? I was looking at them myself, for that price how can you go wrong?

Maple neck, but this one is the alder body with the mahogany veneers. Somehow the dealers sell the new ones at the same price for the korina vs. the alder/mahogany veneer ones though.....not sure how that works.

Funny how most of the "korina" ones on eBay look like the alder/mahogany too!

I fucking hate you!!!  Just kidding. I want to get one of those but in the black they offer it in. No more guitars for me though this year. Just picked up a US Warlock that needs a bit of help. I have two beater guitars that need rebuilding, and one that needs a new paint job.

The black ones with the white guard and gold hardware do look freakin' sweet!!!

I was going to change the pickups while I was changing strings on it tonight, but wouldn't you know the pickup height adjustment screws are metric and won't fit my American made pickups that I have sitting around.......
