VAN HALEN AND ROTH RE-UNION TOUR for 2007

Post by 5150loveeddie » Thu Oct 26, 2006 2:02 pm

VAN HALEN AND ROTH - FINALLY IN 2007:
No more teasing. Never tease where Van Halen is concerned...I have information from a highly placed source that Van Halen will likely tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman.

Negotiations are currently underway to re-unite Van Halen with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in Amercia and possibly other territories. While nothing in the world of Van Halen is set until the band walk out on stage, I can confirm that negotiations between all parties have been underway for some time, trying to put together a big 2007 re-union tour.

One would presume the tour will feature classic VH era songs only. What I do not yet know is whether this plan includes exiled bass player Michael Anthony. Perhaps Wolfgang will play bass? I'm told these questions will be answered shortly.
Van Halen last toured in 2004 with Sammy Hagar, but the tour ended on a sour note and Hagar has not talked to Eddie Van Halen since.
What I also know is that there will be no new Van Halen release to go with the tour, such as The Best Of Both World's in 2004. There is no plans for a new compilation or a new studio album - just the tour.
More details when available.

Wish I could get a bit more confirmation. My main source of Dave info plays with Army of Anyone now. :D I hope this is true though...should have done this in '96 IMHO.
Why is it we can remember where all the wires go, but can never find a pick?

Not too excited about it myself. For one thing..no new releases means they are just an oldies band.

No Michael Anthony means it isn't Van Halen IMHO. His harmonies are a must.
His bass is solid and is a huge part the that sound.

That wont last long either...both egos will clash. I really doubt it will happen. Even if it does...On the road it wont last long. Sammy is much easier to get along with and look at the problems there.

Eddie needs to dry out first...and that is going to take at least a couple years. That ain't going to happen either.

Believe it or Not, according to Roth they already have enough kick ass new material to do whole new album, just from the short period they got back together when they came out with the Greatest Hits Album.
That doesn't suprise me at all. MWM was their last song I liked. I would love to hear more from that session.
One thing about these guys is, when they get to the studio they never have a problem churning out kick ass music. If they can just bury the hatchet, and play...The inspiration and chemistry is still there....... except...
Anthony is a must...wont be the same without him. ..He as much of the VH tone, as the Amp, the guitar, the effects, Roth, Alex. It's a package deal. I've heard others sit in, and it never sounds right. Him out sours the VH recipe. As great as Billy is, please no Van Sheehan.
Although Van Flea would probably sound pretty cool. Imagine them playing the funk out of Mean Street or Outta Love on a fluke

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just grab both these guys by the ears, and make them both to say their sorry, shake hands, and play nice..

Comon Ed give Mike a Break.

Its gotta be Mike. Those higher harmonies that he does it was made the Hagar version work. We still had part of that harmony. I actually preferred the Hagar days but after all these yaers, it's time for the four. C'mon make it happen.

not to piss on anyone's parade, but have you seen DLR live recently ? I have, lots of jumping around and yelping - out of breath by mid-way of first song. He was never a great live singer even in his heyday, but now it's all show and no go. I left that concert after the third tune and was out $40. I could have bought some mustards with that cash !

I agree with you on that Bro. Dave has lost alot of vocal range and the majority of his high pitched scrieching falsetto's. If he was to take things seriously and really attempt to go about this the right way he would hire a good vocal coach and give it his all. To me Eddie definatly still has it in spades. He has alway's been and as long as he's breathing will be a guitar playing M.F. I also agree that Mike has got to be there to get at all those harmonies( as well as his truly great playing) although Ed was also responsible for a lot of that people think is Mike. I really hope it happens.

A VH live show is a circus event loosely based on music and no one can re-create that atmosphere except those 4 guys and them alone. It must include Anthony and it doesn't matter how good or bad Dave sings... it never did - not knocking Dave's voice - I saw him in 2004 and he sang his ass off - it's just that his vocal performance is a very small part of the LIVE VH CIRCUS EVENT. Raw and powerful and ugly and you cannot look away - as long as Dave can stand there, center stage, and say, "LOOK AT ALL THE PEOPLE HERE TONIIIIITE!" It's the perfect marriage of musical virtuosity and Vaudeville bravado. What could be more entertaining? Singing? Is there supposed to be singing? :D

Nicely Put. I'm in agreeance. I can't wait to feel the energy in the place when they break into say "Bottom's Up". I can't F***in wait.

I would be excited to hear those oldies as one said, since those oldies are what got heavy into playing music, and now writing and recording my own......

Last time I saw them was at the US Festival in 83, and I will definately go see them this time around. It might be my last chance.
I really hope the start recording some new stuff more than anything.

Not sure if I would want to pay Verizon $100+ for a non stage view seat to see bluegrass, Vegas lounge, porno music versions of the classics. I think it would be neat for them to do large club sized shows though.

Yeah, that would be the best. Sure wish they would do that.
