What do you think about that setup? Is it correct for EVH's BS? Plexi has typical George's '68 era specs. only difference 2X 560pf's large silver mices and 32+32 uf in preamp section. MM PT&OT, + 460 V or less, no variac.

Very close to EVH's sound in the first album to my ears. Will post sound clips too.

Here's the chain: Plexi 68>THD HP as load box>DBX 242 Parametric EQ>Fulltone TTE>Mosvalve500>Celestion vintages / Randall RP2/200>Celestion 75 Heritages.
(Music Man Axis and Yamaha Frank Gambale signature stock guitars)

Thanks in advance, to people who will share the knowledge with me.

What's that Randall? I've never seen it before. I bet if you use Greenbacks, either vintage or reissue, you'll be even closer

Thanks Gnugear and Guitarforhire for the input. I'll try Greenbacks.

Since those MOSFET power amps are really loud (400W RMS each) I'll need 16 X Greenbacks, to blow up the stage and the band

FYI Gnugear, Randall RP2/200 is a discontinued, warm MOSFET power amp which is loud enough to get the physical dynamics of the speakers.

Cool, I've never seen that Randall before. I've had the Mosvalve though. I never play my rig THAT loud, so I'm not sure if you'll be safe or not. I have had my 50 watter on 10 and it handled it just fine.

gnugear did you see the pictures of EVH in the studio? He uses 10 cabs and several slave amps. He is always very loud, even in the studio. According to the people around him, EVH likes to play loud.

I always beleive that's necessary, especially if you're looking for powerful dynamics in the sound. Most important it's great to feel the sound behind you.

Is that safe? Absolutly not 8)
