Well that proves it.
MM are better than Cerrems.
That was your point right?

I have real dagnalls too.
I thought we were comparing the clones? :?

FWIW I think my Clone Tranny with shitty speakers stand up pretty damn good to your Real Dagnall and Real Speakers and polished clips. I wasn't sitting there trying eq it just like the recording. I just got it to record like 2 days ago, and slapped it together this afternoon.

Do you still think it sounds like ACDC?
On second thought nevermind...This seems like a personal beef against ******, and I'm staying out of it.
This is starting to smell like the Frakenstrat thread.

I'm outta here.

man,no reason to get all bent out of shape.i was just giving people my opinion not attacking you or ******.i think your amp sounds good!relax.my recordings are far from polished.my speakers are heritage greenbacks, not vintage speakers.i record with a sm57 into a $40 behringer sound board into the line input of my computer.i use no eq,and really dont know what im doing recording wise!

In my case it was lowered filtering and the tesla E83CC in V1 that finally dialed in the tone. And yes, the tranny is 2" ****** iron... I specificly got that tranny NOT to end up in VH-land, haha go figure...

I don't think this list is "that" controversial... There are many more things coming into the equation than the opt. Apart from the obvious amp electronics, such a simple thing as speaker, cab, wood, hands, strings, pic attack, will tip the balance in any direction. Hell, my amp got into VH-land with a 2" tranny! Certainly not what I expected anyway, so there's gotta be more to this puzzle than just output iron.
i agree!

I just bought a Pair on NOS tesla E83CC :D
And 3 NOS Sylvania 12AX7WA
I have a Quad of GEC KT66 on their way for my JTM 45/100 too.

Try em all is my attitude. It will just up the value if I choose to sell it.
Might as well set em up right.

Suposedly those Heritages are exact to the originals according to
people who know their shit like Chris. They're supposed to be way better than the Chineese G12H. The Chineese G12h in my Metro Cab BW cab are already way better than my 1960ax with g12m reissues which is with my recording rig for now. Like night and day. The better metro cab is with my band at a different location.

.
You say the ****** Trannys are to Dark like ACDC.
I think with this 1960ax cab it's too bright, It's way better with the
Metro cab that has 2 GH12 and to Vinatge 30's in an X pattern.
It's like night and day

Eventualy I'm going to get some Heritage or Real Deal old speakers.
I'll start off with 2 to replace the 2 Vintage 30', when I get some more money saved. I just bought a lot of shit.

Are you refering to #5 as Georges Clone or the one designed by Heyboer?

Thanks,

I think he's refering to the regular Heyboers, not the Metro Dagnall Clones.

That sounds pretty good. What kind of speakers are you using?
Gear:
'74 Super Lead rebuilt with '68 metro board and old stock mustards.
'73 Super Lead
'68 Basketweave with pre rola G12Ms

Thanks

A 1960ax cab with the g12m Greenback 25 watt reissue speaker.
It's about 4 years, so I hope they're pre Chineese.

You know Stan..yours sound real close...but sounds too open somehow...your losing the compression that was evident in early versions of amps you modded or put together...Somehow you are not as close as you once were. It sounds more like my Peacemaker and Scorpion so I am betting it is the MM trannies...my personal experience is.. I would never consider them great EVH amps. They get you in the ballpark, sounds kinda like....but that's it...Great amps...I love them...but not nailing that tone.

I am going in circle hear so bear with me..Mark's Plexi with MM self leads sounds great though...he found the right mix of compants to add the right amount of drive and compression. So much so..I found a deal on one and picked up a used one from John Sozo.

Mikes clips have that compression. They sound closer to me..So ****** is closer out of the box in my view.

Stan I remember you buying Cerrems trannies and selling me on buying them. I bought a real custom one from ****** for a 50 watter...I wanted it to sound like a 100 wat Plexi and not lose that 100 watt drive.....****** said he could do it...

Believe it or not I put it in my Scorpion but it was way dark..so much so I couldn't brighten it up enough.

However I will say ****** told me what componants to mod inside the Scorpion to open it up.. but I didn't want to do all that soldering inside a 2500 dollar amp..LOL...So I took it out...

I am going to build a 50 watter someday and Cerrems tranny is going in it...then I can mod like Crazy...Now I am sure it will get me there....
