OT: Looking for a singer for new cover band project

Post by VHoholic » Wed Mar 01, 2006 3:15 pm

Hopefully it's ok that i post this here. If not, George you can just delet it.  Anyone know of a good message board or any place on the net to find singers looking for bands? They always seem impossible to find lol. I'm thinking about putting together a coverband in the style of old Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, some old era Journey, Kiss, ZZ top, etc...... Just a shit-kicking tear the place down type of thing lol. If anyone knows of any good singers who would be into doing something like this to make some extra cash and have some fun let me know. It would be in the New York/New Jersey area. I already have a drummer and possible bass player all set to go. Thanks. 8)

I wish I could be in your band!!! I don't think I could sing that style too well though. I'm more of a cleaner (less growl) Chris Cornell (audioslave era) singer.

Oh God ... I feel like a butthead for comparing myself to Chris Cornell. My band used to do a cover of "Show Me How To Live" and people would compliment me. I really liked singing it though. It rocked! Anyway, I guess I just sound like me ... but this thread isn't about me, is it? So, back to VHoholics pursuit for a singer. Good Luck!

BTW, I couldn't move to Jersey anyway.

VHoholic,
Funny! I'm doing the same thing, but I got the singer from Oh My God ( ohmygodmusic.com) He just kicks ass! Check his band out!! We have to wait until he is done with his midwest tour so we can throw some songs together. We're going to do stuff like "I Want You" by Kiss, "She's got Balls" by AC/DC, "I'm the One" by VH. It's gonna be a blast! Hope you find a killer singer!
