My '74 Super Lead iron with PTP replacement board in its current config pictured below. Hooked up with 2 variacs a la JNEW.
Closest I have come to the VH I tone.

Sounds really good. Did you also run a Eq pedal in front of the amp?

yes 6 band in a smile pattern - peaking at about +12db - bottom of the curve at about +6db - then back off the bottom slider a bit to keep the low end tight.

What the hay? I posted earlier but now I don't see it.
Are both V1 couplers .022's? Hard to tell from the pic.
And a fantastic VH tone with all the volume flexibility you could ever need.

I've used .0022's for so long now, I actually don't remember how a .022 sounded. May revisit this soon. Yours sounds

Sounds fantastic Rob!!
Which pup was that? DSD? Which value is the bright cap at the vol pot and how is your NFB set? Man, one of the best tones I've heard .. it has all the warmth, chewyness and that smack in the solo notes that I love and can't seem to get in my amp
Also, which tubes??
Keep coming the clips man,

Nice
What was the speaker variac down to on the dial? what were your thoughts to the feel/tone using the second variac.
