He gave me a fantastic explanation of how EVH actually gets his sound. He explained it is not from the EVH amps but rather an elaborate method that involves power amps and ISO transformers? It was way over my head listening to him but he wanted to explain the brown sound and what EVH did to get that sound. He also said that EVH is still doing the same thing as he did all those years ago. He also went on to say he was just in California meeting with EVH and company because they wanted to consult him on some things that he said may or may not go into production. He was not specific. All in all the conversation was very pleasant and his answers were very forthcoming. He asks a lot of questions and I had a pen and paper handy with his recommendations. I will be sending my 2204 in soon. He has worked with so many very well known guitar players that it really boggles the mind.
