Still some more clips from the recently session with my British Purist, but as I've already mentioned, unfortunately the sound on the clips is only a shade of that, what really was happening in the room.
Classic channel, Gain 8, Treble 7, Mid (internal fixed) 4, Bass 3, Presence 4, Les Paul with bridge PAF:

Thanks guys for your opinions and thanks Sub and Paul for your nice words! But - to be honest - I wasn't very satisfied with my first clips. To my ears it sounded more, as when the cabinet has been in another room, only with the door open.
It's been the first time that I've recorded anything - but maybe anybody can give me some helpful advices, "how to record an amp"
But first go and listen to some new clips and tell me your opinions!
3 different guitars, but you'd hear it anyway.

For the foto shooting this were the Valvo labelled Mullard Xf4, but for the recording I've used JJ EL34's in the amp.Shredder wrote:I also saw the Valvo-labelled Mullard EL34s in there!!! Are they XF1,2,3 or 4s???
There are only two other tube types, I'd recommend instead of orig. Mullards:Shredder wrote:What other tube would you use/recommend if you couldn't find more of these babies??
- The East German NOS RFT EL34, often labelled as "Siemens".
- The JJ EL34 (not E34L), which IMO comes very close to the Mullard Xf4's sound.
