I thought that too BUT what the hell is holding the EVH logo plate then?
and i just noticed this,
look at the label to the left on the edge of the front, a few inches above the input jack it says JJ 12AX7 sideways on the tape label?

Hehe look again, the EVH plate is fastened to the little block where the grill screws into, look at the very end of the right leg of the V.
And of course if you look at this, it's quite evident:

Hmmmm...... I coulda swore back in his 95 gear pics the hh's had needle meters. Maybe I am remembering wrong.
As far as groove tubes and their brand? Don't really mean nothin. They don't really make any tubes but they have their mitts on some pushing for quality and bringin back older designs and input on what maybe good to produce.
Technically all they do at all is grade and sort tubes and thats it. They get their tubes pretty much from the same suppliers everyone else does.

Somethin tells me the way the grills are off for easy access to the tubes that they do an awful lot of dickin with tubes constantly. Of course it is a bitch to have to remove them in a hurry. They got them fricken child proofed on the damn head so its a complete pita to get them off.

Ok, turns out he is not loading down his dry, from Dave Friedman:
"He is not loading down the amps. He has cabs on the bass side of the stage also. A line out is tapped off the dry amp and goes to the power amp to power a dry cab on the other side of the stage. There are 2 wet cab there also off another power amp. Also as far as the volume goes it really does not get much louder from there it just distorts the power section more."

Yeah, it's a replica body. When I was doing the 1971 D quarter for my replica, my 82 year old dad said I was putting in the wrong spot. He was looking at THAT picture and I was going off the original.

What is holding up the 5150 III logo?

Who knows? Probably glued or velcroed to the white support for the original grill.
