Japanese know how to do TV right! Stick through the JUMP part at the beginning and they cover the career.

yeah, that was great. Appears they still hate each other while promoting the Japan leg of the 2012 tour. Ted wanted Ed but got the band as a bonus. dang, nothing about a secret pedal....

I can't really see that they "hate" eachother to be honest....
If they would than they could easily find a replacement for Roth...

Well, that was a joke. There were all those "inside" reports from the tour that they "hate" each other and that is why they tour was cut short.

There is NO replacement for Roth.

If AC/DC can find a replacement for Bon Scott surely VH can find a replacement for Roth...

awesome interview!! thanks for taking the time to share that. wow! i have always wondered who the heck Ted Templeman really was you know? i had hardly ever even read even a written interview - let alone a full on TV interview - that is crazy cool!! who is the other guy?

and the band interview is awesome! i have never heard them speak so candidly about their creative process. that was a real peek inside THE VH MACHINE. all that magic you hear on the records is all coming from the chemistry that was illuminated in this interview like never before. dag!! that was watershed dudes!!

VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :champ:

Yeah but at the side their were a whole pile of EVH interviews to sift thru ..one had them (EVH and Fender tech) talking about building the evh 5150 III and what was neat was EVH saying he doesn't use a boost and the fender guy saying what really surprised him was how the tone was all in the amp...stopped short of saying his tone is a modded plexi but looking at that channel 3 of the fender is some pretty good clues.. EVH does mention he used all kinds of tricks to get a cranked sound at low volume levels..so that's a given...still adamant about not using a talent box tho.. :D even tho there are pics of em..

The one thing that hasn't seemed to have changed is Eddie's belief that coming up with riff's constitutes songwriting i.e,...Of course, he is the best at it, but without words or a melody there is no song, no recording, no albums, no millions in record sales, etc, etc...And without the riff for inspiration, Dave and Sammy would have nothing to sink their teeth into...

...having said that, I wonder how many times Dave or Sammy came to the studio with an idea of their own, FIRST, that made it to an album...I think it is clear that Eddie gave birth to just about every song they ever cut and maybe he would like some recognition for his role as the band's creative force as opposed to being a guitar hero..
