Rebuilt my Frankenstrat...

Post by stramm8 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:34 pm

with a Diver Down/Jump era flair. My old frankie had been languishing in my closet since it had been stripped of parts over the past year and a half. But I recently scored an original 1982 Kramer Pacer Special beakneck locally on craigslist and decided to put it back together. Sold everything else and kept the neck. The neck is one of the earlier ones with a 1 5/8th nut width. The really cool thing about it is the back shape is close (but a little thinner) than an ebmm evh/axis neck carve. I've been wanting to try one of the evh wolfgang pickups, so I threw one in there...

The 'JUMP' video is dear to my heart. Ed's Franky had the 'Beak' headstock KRAMER neck on it then. Yours is just as BAD ASSED

I love it !!!

Looks great, I've got a quarter if you need one. :P

Thanks fellas! It's the one guitar I always go back to. It's had 3 or 4 different necks and just as many pickups over the years I've had it. And thanks for the offer but I'm pretty sure I have the right quarter somewhere; just need to find it

It's a WD. Back in the mid-90's, I traded a guy up in Michigan a Kramer Pacer body for his "painting" services on the body. He suggested WD and he performed all the routing etc. This one is swamp ash which and is nice and light...
