ps. I don't smell anything burning from the chassis. Oh, and the amp had been burning in for five hours when I decided to start messing with it (because I am a moron).

Could be a problem with the preamp pi filter, or I fried all my pre tubes (nos tungsram$$$ and sylvanias$$$$)vanhalen5150 wrote:I never really burned in my 68 from last year either. I've played the he'll out of it though. I get some pops a crackles out of it sometimes. I dunno?
Reading from Kevin C's TUT3 book, most heat produced from the OT is actually "induced heat" from the tubes. I think your safe there. Slow blow fuses right?
Looks like it might just be a pre amp tube and possibly a cap. It comes down to me not knowing how to properly use pro-tools and my mbox. I'll try to get a better re-amp clip that is recorded properly (for sharing too). I think pro tools and the mbox has features for this. Otherwise I'm really happy with the breakin proccess and will finish it up once I get the amp back on it's feet.vanhalen5150 wrote:Tubetramp 6CA7's? Oh boy..............$$$$$$$$$ Or just the preamps?
I guess putting in cheapo's for intial runs is the lesson learned here. That really sucks man!
That's kind of sick, think I'll grab one. Still, the ElevenRack has this feature built in I think, perhaps pro-tools/mbox does too.vanhalen5150 wrote:If I remember correctly George uses one of these I think.
