Out of the clips i've heard the Mercury Magnetics always sound the best for VH to my ears, at least out of the two brands you mentioned.

Sorry but I don't agree at all MMs are not it, George's 1.5" is MUCH better but ******'s are dead on, he's exacly dead on the Original Dagnall, with the proper speakers that is the tranny you need, Ed didn't use MM didn't he?

so:
1)****** audio
2)Heyboers (metro version 1.5")
3)MM

Billy,
I do know this for sure - if you noticed i have started alot of these threads as far as questions one might be interested on the quest for evh marshall. these are questions i have asked and have gotten answers here so i figure people coming Metroamp.com will find a wealth of information on the subject.
im just getting ball rolling in the evh section ;)

and i do know its my first amp and i am satisfied with what i got.
i can always build another and you better believe i will!
George rules!

Mark, you're right the dual voltage PT is 2.5" I have Heyboer working on a 2" stack version. Still some refining to do.

Aren't the originals 2"?
