Cosmetic question about ceramic caps

Post by gnugear » Tue Aug 10, 2004 4:31 pm

I have some 500v 500pf ceramic disks and they look anemic ... like a flimsy little piece of orange clay on wire.

If I up the voltage to 1000-2000v, will the physical size of the cap be bigger? I'm just looking for a pleasing cosmetic alternative for my '74 rebuild.

They will be bigger, i looked at some 3000 Volters and they were as big as my Yam-Bag, i mean they were big, like a Nickel.
