One of the best comparison videos I have seen. I liked the Greenbacks and the EV best.

+1 - some speakers there sound better than in real life (v30), some worse (M and maybe H)...strange little boxy cabbluesbreaking wrote:I'm also surprised about my favorite... It's strange given that I *hate* V30s whenever I play through them. They sound a lot more open in the clip than what I usually hear.
this clip is more realistic IMO

Kool speaker comparison vids.
.
(I would have expected the Marshall 4x12 V30's to sound the same to the Carvin 4x12.
Factoring in that the Carvin was on the floor might have made the difference... or even different guage wire...)

Thanks for posting. I liked the G123H30 for rhythm and the Greenback for leads the best which tells me I am going to mix them in my cabs. The Eminance Swamp Thing is my next fav.

This clip actually made me buy V30's and I have to say those are GREAT sounding speakers. especially in a 2X12 cab. I didn't like a 4x12 loaded with V30's

V30's can sound good once broken in..I had an old boogle 212 cab that rocked hard. But they really do have an exagerated mid honk...not good for all applications.

I loved the Celestion Greenbacks, Eminence Tonker and Jensen P12N Alnico.
Anybody have the Eminence or the Jensen?
The Celestion G12M 70 and the Celestion K100 sounded the worst to me.

Re: Speaker comparison Celestion vs JBL and more
I saw that clip a few months back. Its a really fantastic comparison. A few stand out above most IMO but after a while you can almost adapt your ear to most of them. There are a few real stinkers thats for sure. One of my favorites demoed was the Celestion K100. No mid honk.
