Great tip to help with building or modding an amp...

I saw a tech using a full roll of toilet paper at strategic places under the chasis when working on a marshall amp. You can use it with the chassis in many different positions, and it works GREAT!!! No need to build a device to hold the amp while you build. I'm on my 3rd build in 3 weeks. (I'm building a 100 12 series for my brother right now.) I discovered the TP on my second build and it makes life WAY easier!

Nice one. I've been using books (and getting shouted at by the wife). Too tight to buy/make a cradle.

Yep books work great for me too. Need something just the right size to even things up , just go back to the bookcase .

The amp cradle looks like a great device, however I always seem to manage with something else - roll of solder, old cassette tape boxes, books - whatever works really. I think its in the spirit of DIY to push items into service that weren't designed for that task.

I tend to use 7" open reel tape boxes too!

greatly affects the final tone of the amplifier; It is left to the builder to experiment.

The wood I use to make the cradle I wire my amp on greatly affects the tone? My amps sound great just using books or whatever, how great would they sound if just upgraded to a cradle?
