Now let's play nice Strat78, we let Divebomb have his Frankenstein thread in Guitars..usually my posts over here are totally ignored and I did give you guys the Japanese link, which I'll bet you don't have already and my Franky copy pics still rock over anything on the net so far...don't worry we'll pick up our marbles and go back to our yard soon..  Feel free to post in Malmsteen topics if you wish..

I don't care where Kyle (Divebomb) posts his threads... we need more, Kyle... MORE!

Yng , thats the shizzle . Paint ? Can't we just stripe it ? We can just slap the electrical tape on her and drop the white paint bomb . I think the bomb is going to be the final release . Its geared toward organizing everything ED . Its wide enough to accept Marshall heads , and of course 5150 and EVH models . Has room for two echoplexes one Univox 80 and of course all your electrical needs . Has several drawers for your EVH tour jerseys and sneakers . Comes housed with three variacs , line conditioner , interior hygrometer , an exhaust fan , refrigeration for a case of Schlitz , soft shock internal mounts , storage for 2 cartons of Marlboros and of course is shipped with casters , front cover letter of authenticity and GPS coordinates before failure . Could we place a price on the bomb ? Kristies , Southebeys , Barret Jackson ? And as a bit of food for thought , What is Edwards most expensive or important piece of gear or thing that he owns . I want the pick axe he posed with . To me it signifies his strength and ability to create , hovering over my knowledge that I can hold it and tear some shit up . Not to his degree with an axe of electricity , however . Like the masses .

St August wrote:if you look at the pic I have posted. you can clearly see that the cabs are not just merely new with glue on them nor are they simply a cab with the tolex ripped off.
the tolex has been off for some time. they have been handled thousands of times in and out of trucks , used as table and ashtray and possibly more who knows..
do they look like they just ripped off the tolex 5 minutes ago .. No. everything is aged and worn and to make them look like that takes alot more work than simply putting on new tolex to a new cab. But I see your point. You could do this with your own cabs if you wished too. So the bottom line is . it will be for some and not for others. and its only 125.00 BTW..

Jerry, you stopped offering the aging option?

I don't think this type of things is for me ... but I'd be interested in seeing a picture of what a relic 4x12 looks like!?

they had tolex. in the van halen picture book you can see where it was cut off around the hardware.

new guy here reviving a long dead thread

someone posed the question but no one really answered it. does anyone know what happened to all of those stripped cabs that Ed used? does he still own them? i came across a youtube clip out there of a guy playing in the VH style and it shows a montage of related photos etc. at one point there's footage of one of these stripped cabs with the OLD van halen music note logo on the back panel. apparently someone out there has one! of course, i can't find a link to that video now. i thought i saw it on the vhnd but i could be wrong.

I believe their whereabouts are unclears. I don't think Ed used them on the second world tour. One can be seen in the studio for W&CF ... George Lynch appears to own one and somebody else is reported to own another one.

Considering that VH owed a lot of money by the end of the 1st world tour, it is very possible that Ed unloaded a few cabs.
