Hey George, I'm not 100% sure on this -
Will your new 45/100 front panel fit your old, standard JTM45 chassis? Wondering if these new more accurate panels will fit a chassis I bought from you about a year ago.
thanks!

George:
When you get a free moment--and I do mean that, anytime in the next three or four weeks--if I could find out what the dimensions are on the holes for the pre and power tubes, that would be great. Thinking of getting in some white ceramic, but not sure whether or not to order, due to sizing.
I mean it! Take your time! If you go back and read your New Year wish list in your Christmas Card, you'll see that you're off to a great start! These 45/100's are a huge "X" off the list, no?

No problem, the output tube sockets holes are 1.115" diameter. Preamp socket holes are 3/4" diameter.
The front panel hole spacing is exactly the same as the JTM 45 aluminum chassis, so the panels are interchangeable.

While we have you here, can you tell me the spacing between the input jacks on your JTM45 and 45/100 chassis? I have some "Asian" faceplates here that I might use, but I'm not sure if the input jacks line up exactly right.

Sure:
jacks are spaced 1.5" on center. The height spacing is 1" on center.

Shoot! That means that Ceriatone's panels won't fit George's JTM45 or 45/100 chassis, for those who might wonder. By eye measurement, everything except the input jacks seem to line up. And the input jacks match up nicely as far as width spacing, but there's only 2,25 cm (roughly .9 ") height spacing between them.
It's a shame, because they really look quite good! Not dead on, but they have a certain vintage look which works well.
I may have to look into those decals after all...

That's strange, I wonder where he came up with that spacing? I've never seen them that close together.
Sorry about that.

And you can still get away with JTM45 on the front panel and such? That'd be great to have an exact replica front panel.
Would love to buy one when you've got them!

For a while he did a lot of custom stuff I sent him. That was back before I was a member here so I have no idea if he still does that. Last I heard a few years back he wasnt doing cusotm stuff anymore but I also ahd him tell me via email around taht time he only said that to cut down on the number of unprofitable one-off stuff coming his way and he'll still do them. If enough people here wanted him to make accurate panels without the decals he'd probably do them.

excellent news, I've got my order in for the chassis, NOS resistor kit and head cab.
forgot to order the pots, knobs, switches, nuts etc... etc... though (doh!!!).
was hoping to keep it all together in one order to save on shipping. oh well, nevermind.

Heavier than Hell,
No, nevermind the nevermind!
The shipping department at MetroAmp is the best I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. Get these guys by email and have them send you a note before the chassis and head box are ready to get packed up, and then add in your pots, caps, wire, and all that good stuff.
