Still some more clips from the recently session with my British Purist, but as I've already mentioned, unfortunately the sound on the clips is only a shade of that, what really was happening in the room.

Classic channel, Gain 8, Treble 7, Mid (internal fixed) 4, Bass 3, Presence 4, Les Paul with bridge PAF:

Rough channel, Gain 8, Treble 7, Mid 6, Bass 4, Presence 4, Strat with bridge humbucker:

Rough channel, Gain 6, Treble 7, Mid 6, Bass 4, Presence 4, Relic Strat with SC's:

Let me know your opinions!

Thanks guys for your opinions and thanks Sub and Paul for your nice words! But - to be honest - I wasn't very satisfied with my first clips. To my ears it sounded more, as when the cabinet has been in another room, only with the door open.

It's been the first time that I've recorded anything - but maybe anybody can give me some helpful advices, "how to record an amp"

But first go and listen to some new clips and tell me your opinions!

3 different guitars, but you'd hear it anyway.

Larry

I also saw the Valvo-labelled Mullard EL34s in there!!! Are they XF1,2,3 or 4s??? What other tube would you use/recommend if you couldn't find more of these babies??

For the foto shooting this were the Valvo labelled Mullard Xf4, but for the recording I've used JJ EL34's in the amp.

There are only two other tube types, I'd recommend instead of orig. Mullards:

- The East German NOS RFT EL34, often labelled as "Siemens".

- The JJ EL34 (not E34L), which IMO comes very close to the Mullard Xf4's sound.

Kick-ass Larry! 8)

What cab/speakers are you using? Sweet grit goin on there, can really hear the air moving. There's not one sinle thing to fault there to my ears.
Must pick up a quad of those JJ EL34's, I always used the 34L's before.
