George i was wondering is that a e609 ( the cheaper one) or the 609?VelvetGeorge wrote:I listened back to these clips today and I really don't care for the Sennheiser 609 mic by itself. It's missing the immediacy and in your face presense of the 57. I only used it because all of my other mics were loaned out. Back in July, WTF?
I'll get the '57's back and make new clips.

Hey George, Just signed up to your forum! Those are some very organic sounding clips of the 67" ! Good stuff!I am looking forward to the clips of the 66 Replica JTM45/100!!!
As far as BLues Saracano. I am unsure as to what he used when he recorded the Shrapnal stuff when he was 15 and 16 yrs old. THink it may have been plexi or JCM800s with some outboard boost. ANyway, His father makes amps strictly for BLues to use which are called Dirty Boy amps. Many companies approached his dad to build the amp on a grand scale but all were turned down buy his father because he claims the amps are far to labor intensive and time consuming to build? Thats all I know as to Mr. Saraceno! I do know he is not into recording Solo albums any more and you hear any from him in the near future. He does a lot of producing and tv stuff now.
Anyway, AWesome CLips George! YOUR AMPS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a new clip. I have both the 57 and the e609 on this one. Same setup otherwise.
A little hall reverb added after the fact.

Here's a clip with the TMB pedal on the modern setting. The drive is nice but there is way too much lows. No doubt due to the 330uf shared cathode in V1 and the .1uf phase invertor caps.
