Why not build yourself one from Wamoth, it would be cheaper for what you describe.

Thanks, yes I know. Not the point of my post though. Wondering why all these dealers are blowing them out at such a low price.

"Fender Special Run" it has the EXACT same specs as the regular 57' reissue, but it is Candy Apple Red. Want to buy it cause it is so cheap compared to the others. Just trying to figure out what the catch is.

There is a whole new American Vintage Series, check them out!

Custom colors always were at a premium price since the older days.
My 1983 Fullerton 1957 Strat Reissue I ordered in black, their is some controversy over these, but Dave Gilmour bought 3 at the time and used them as his main touring guitars in that era, also Jeff Beck had '57 reissues he used and Gary Moore mostly 1962 reissues from back then, but all these years later it is the guitar I have had the longest and I A/B'd it against the mega buck Blackie and I loved mine as much!
Sure they have a generic neck shape between the '62 and '57 back then.
But these are great guitars and I have seen beat up examples go for big bucks and mine is mint. It is super light and rings like my old '54 Junior!
You probably aren't looking to spend in that range.
Some say the first Corona '57 reissues are more limited than the Fullerton ones, I have to say I would take my 1983 original over any Custom Shop Masterbuilt anyday! Good Luck!
