Well, I guess its gonna sound like a lot, like if I had bought a new production guitar (PRS, new LP, etc), but comparatively to what very clean first year Firebirds sell for, IMO, it was almost a bargain.
$5,500.00 out the door. I've seen modded, or broken headstock original '64-'65 FB's sell for more than that, and clean, original '63 FB III's go between 7-10k, so considering how nice this one is, and how awesome it plays and sounds (and I mean awesome), I guess with the whole vacation in Cali, and the approval my my dear wife
(LOVE YA, BB!!!) I just
couldnt walk away from this one. Im gonna sell off a few pieces to make it up some of the money, but Im absolutely in love with this guitar. Even unplugged, if someones playing it in the living room you can hear it in adjoining rooms of the house!!

I think you can count on pretty much ANYTHING from Mark Bartell at Tone King to be amazing. His amps are absolute monster killers, pretty much squarely rooted in the Fender camp, but with the "Mid-Bite" cranked, it definitely has some old Plexi in there as well.
Its become one of my favorite amps.
