Kay 'Hummingbird' restoration ?

Post by Tone Slinger » Tue May 08, 2012 1:54 pm

My Pops just found me an old '70's era Kay Gibson Hummingbird copy. It has that cool '70's era Tobacco sunburst finish and sounds REAL good. My question is this,

The scratch guard is worn, and alot of the flower vines and the hummingbird are wore off. You can still see the IMPRINT though. I am gonna repaint the design and was wondering what type paint to use. I was thinking sealing it back in with a couple coats of gloss nitro. What should I do/use ?
