uh.....I hate to be critical of a guitar player that can I'm sure play circles around me, but he's nowhere near the groove of that song.

Sounds like a fish out of water on that tune. Agree - the rhythm section was good. I'm The One is a hard tune guitar-wise, solely for the bouncy feel.

Wow. It is a hard song for most to pull off. I never really understood why, but everyone says it is the swing. Even when I didn't have the notes 100% right, I think I was always able to get the timing and general feel no problem. 
That said, wjamflan knows how to play the notes correctly...as usual, he recently corrected my long standing misunderstanding of what is actually going on in the ascending licks during the first couple of fills and the beginning of the first solo.
"I'm The One" is just as important as "Eruption" to figure out correctly when it comes to really understanding Ed's style.
