I need to balance price with performance on a Marshall 4x12 B cabinet. I am looking for some G12M Greenbacks to use with my 50w Plexi. I recently sold some Pre Rola Greenbacks to finance some other purchases, and in no small part that I was afraid to blow them in my 2x12 cabinet. I now have a Salt and Pepper B cabinet 4x12 and know that I want to go Greenbacks. I have owned Heritage G12M and loved them. I also have a Scumback M75 in my 20w "mini" Bluesbreaker" style combo cab with my JTM45, so I know those are probably the ones I want, (money no object).
My situation is I don't have $800 do get a quad of Scumbacks. Heritage G12M would be over $600, too. The speakers in the cab now are the V12-60 Silver Series, which don't sound bad at all, but are a bit more modern sounding. Crisp top, solid bass, but missing the nice creamy mids of a Greenback. I can get some Mojotone BV-25M for $250 or so, but don't want to waste my time if they are not up to snuff. My thought is to get at least two of the Mojo BV-25M and use those with the V12-60 for now. My desire is the Heritage G12M, or ideally the Scumbacks.
Any thoughts on the BV-25M before I try a set?? Any other suggestions - Eminence Private Jacks, or WGS or Weber 1225? Looking to make a purchase that I will be happy with for a few years AND keep the purchase price under $300 or so.
Thanks,
Mike

I guess with the lack of responses, I will stick to what I know. I will check out the Heritage GM12 or maybe M75. I'll start with two at a time and stay away from the WGS, Mojotone, etc.

I was hoping to get something cheap, as I have heard good things about the Mojo BV-12M, etc. I just picked up two Herritage G12M on eBay to start. I got those for $180 for the pair. Will sell some other stuff and get two more at some point.neikeel wrote:Sorry only know the celestions new and old oh and one scumback, no experience of the others!
