Dallas Guitar Show Prize - Name That Amp!!

Post by Hazy » Sat Apr 16, 2005 2:35 pm

Got the amp and the chassis cab at the Dallas Guitar Show from a guy who does clones from "parts". I replaced lots of caps with SoZos (all the same way), forced-fit the chassis into the cab, cut out the "logo" and taped it to the front, and installed miscellaneous hardware. Total investment to-date ~$350.

This thing does scream and sing...It easy...What is it, uh, sort of?

NOTE: The cab may require more work...

OK. He said it is a close JTM45 with only 2 inputs (bright and normal).

Wow, y'all were all over it.

Yeah, it's blatantly a Marshall circuit layout, but when you said "Name That Amp" I thought you meant that it was a transplanted production amplifier and we had to guess the manufacturer........

Sorry...

Flames, how do you think he did? I've used it at 2 rehearsals and it does crank...except that the bass is a bit boomy (see my new "Repairs, restoration and mods" question). I like it.
