rockstah wrote:to me 8 is nice - NFB is all about headroom to my ears 4 is alot of gain but it doenst breathe as much as 8ohm - 16 is just alitle bit to much headroom but tell that to bainzy.

I'm definately wanting to try changing the NFB resistor, I noticed my amp definately has too much NFB when cranked.
I was perfectly happy with the NFB wire on the 8ohm tap, running on 16ohm, and using a 47k resistor, but that was with the PPIMV. The PPIMV on low makes the circuit have less NFB, so when I start using power scaling I think I'll be trying things like a NFB control.

Yeah I definately want to try changing the resistor first. My NFB resistor is an Allen Bradley CC and has drifted up to about 57k, so that's what I'm actually running on at the moment.

bainzy! you are lynch fan arent you? its going to be 4 or 8 and 8 with 100k is my recomendation - man - u would use 16ohm tap if u were trying to get it cleaner ie headroom baby!Bainzy wrote:Yeah I definately want to try changing the resistor first. no what i am saying though is he doesnt - noway - not possible - use the 16ohm tap. ok ok im betting on it that he doesnt. i dont know him personally. i guess this would be assuming he has it connected to the speaker and runs 16 ohm cab. but if he ran two cabs it would be on the 8ohm tap connected at the speaker so to speak. 16ohm is the highest headroom tap you could use. and his sound just doesnt have alot of head room to my ears. ok ok im guessing but like i said i would bet on it.

I see what you mean. I agree, it definately doesn't sound like he's using the 16ohm tap.
