Anyone know about this marshall?
I seen several pics of it being used(or at least present) at his live shows but wondered if any info on it ever came about?
read some remarks saying they think it may have been used the head used for VH I?
i know eddie liked to strip off the tolex of his cabs and wondered if this was also striped to matvch the look of his cabs?

Nope that is a different one than his "#1". Friedman says he has worked on both. Just another great sounding Plexi. You can see pictures with the #1 and the barewood one. The #1 has the tolex ripping on the front panel in the middle.

Looks like a a Jose master on the 12301 but it really just sounds like a goosed, variced stock 12xxx. The brown amp looks like your typical 69 head with cans on top, rotated OT and most likely 50/50 screens, 50/50 pre amp, 2.7k V1B cathode split, perhaps a metal panel? Dave would know. Just an over all muddier sounding amp. I'm thinking it is the daisy chained amp that you hear through the PA at the Pasadena sound check after the middle brake of ATBL:

I don't think any pics exist of the back of this amp. Is there a power amp in/ fx return on the back? I have been wondering since you never see #1 without #2 or a second head in any of the pics
Ever notice that? Or maybe one of its inputs is wired to be a poweramp in to keep a stock look and a secret?
Not entirely impossible really.
Dave said it was stock spec..... didn't mention if it was set up as a stock poweramp slave though. A input mod is not really a mod in actuallity really as the circuit is the same technically. It just has an access point one could say.

You can see the back here (lower left), and also daisy chained in the Pasadena.

Since its B+W its hard for me to tell which is which in the bottom photo. Is that #1 3rd down on left with the mysterious white knob? But VH1 rig looks like slave city here. Crazy how many heads are there and there is a reason for it more than just backups. It woulda been nothing to use one of the existing front inputs rewired and you sure as hell would have to look up close to see the knobs settings on those old marshalls.
Then the Laneys and Hiwatts and all those other heads he was draggin around for a bit definitly have a place that fits logically too. Just power amps probably butchered up to play through probably.
I so need to get back in touch with the lady that has daylight stage shots of VH1 live here in michigan. I used to "mow her lawn" if you understand that one.

Just seen her a couple months ago and she still loves me to death but totally forgot to ask her about these again. Whole back line, Ed mike and dave and alex and the bomb with the stripped cabs are in there I think. Can't remember if any heads were visible though. Its been around 98/99 since I seen those pics. Man time flies
