Yes, diode is installed. I have a diode tester on my multimeter. So I checked for proper orientation. I will update pic tonight after work. Thanks again!

Ok here are the finished pics... hrmmm now I see I think I may have put the wrong 2 watt Metal OXide resistors next to the bias caps. Looks like I have put the wrong size resistors here!!!! How the heck did I do that? Would this cause my problem?

Those MO should be brown/black/orange = 10k and grey/red/red = 8k2 in series.

Post back with correct ones

ok I changed the 2 watt MO resistors to proper size and retested voltages. I literally got exactly the same readings as before...

I noticed the readings in question are approximately half of what the chart shows. Does that lead anyone to what might be going on. I am going to double check all my that all my resistors are correct. I have checked for soldering connections that might be faulty, but it seems that I did an ok job constructing it.

Ideas?

You have the B+ line going to the earth point of the mid board filter caps.

That bus wire goes to the 10k resistor on the pot side of the board, not the tie point of your capacitor - that should be grounded - look at the layout and amend.

Thank you for your help... I woke up this morning and examined. It appears I have these flip flopped! Good eye Neil.... I looked over that I don't know how many times. Goes to show you how easy it is to make a mistake! I will amend after work tonight post new readings!

Thanks again!!!

Problem fixed!!! Thanks Neil! The only reading I got that was out of the ordinary was Pin 1 of V1 = 210vdc. I thought that was a little high.

Putting the Power Tubes in today and going to bias and crank her up!

Can't wait.

I also bought some nice Birch Plywood, I am going to make myself a custom head cab. It will be my first go at this, but I am pretty good in the woodworking department.

Thanks again everyone, can't wait to try her out.... When I have some time I will get some youtube clips going...

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! That's all I can say! This amp sounds amazing.... Zero problems.....

Biased to 70% so 17.5/513= 34 milliamps

My hottest tube is V5 , which I biased to 33.5, next was V6 coming in at 32, then V4 at 30 and last V7 at 29... NOS Yellow Label Tesla's from the 60's (preamp tubes v1 NOS RFT, v2, v3 New production JJ's) Now I need some NOS pre-amp tubes and we're rockin'!!!!

Seems a bit of a range there, but the amp is unreal! No humm, just a nice Marshall hiss when cranked. Very clean amp!!! Which is what I was hoping for.

I started playing with the EQ and found a sweet spot at least for the first trial, Presence at 4, Bass at 4, Mid at 8, treble at 6, Volume I at 10, Volume II at 10....

Very articulate, and the touch response is phenomenal. Anyone looking for that old classic rock sound needs one these! Either build one or buy one from George, I am getting perfect AC/DC, perfect Zepplin, great Jimi tones in there too.... This IS the classic rock sounding amp!

This thing is LOUD LOUD LOUD!!!! But what a sweet overdrive... I get beautiful feedback when a chord is held or a note is held, very controllable. Back off the guitars volume and I get nothing less than a crystal clear cleans!

100 watts baby! This is what I have been missing!!!

Now its off too work

THANK YOU to Art, and Neil mostly for all the assistance!!! With out you guys I would still be scratching my head here! I know most guys do not post soundclips, but I promise I will do so!

Ok amp is running great! One issue though. I have a brand new Ultimate Attenuator the dual volume one. As soon as I hook it up and turn the UA's standby to on I blow the HT fuse in the amp. I contacted Mark and him and I will discuss. But I thought I would post here to see if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks

Nope. I have a Hotplate, Motherload Elemental and and Alex. No such problems.

What happens if you are turned right down on volume and have the UA in the path with no attenuation and slowly bring the vol up (again without attenuation)?
