I like my dejavibe 2 because it sounds really good and has a foot pedal like the originals. This makes it easy to ajust instead of leaving the others on one setting all night or bending down to turn knobs

The Castledine stuff always sounds amazing and his Vibe is no exception... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niBY7YlzRjI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
Stu makes amazing effects. Really quality stuff. He made a MK 1.5 Supa Fuzz for me and a rebuild of my grey Vox wah-wah and they are right on the money. I own the original Shin-Ei effects that the YouTube clip showed and they are right on! The Univibe is even better than my original one in that it offers much faster speeds and an overall cleaner sound without that much (if any) signal loss. He is a great builder and a fantastic person to do business with...

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
My friend made a really great Univibe pedal, It's called DryBell Vibe Machine. I've helped him in audio testing and I'm very proud of the result. I'm not saying it's the best, just wanted to let you know about it.
Here's a demo we made for it (I'm playing the black Strat)

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
Very useable, congrats. great playing and i love this rolling stones tune in the end.
is it a stock circuit made tiny modern components ? and which cells/bulb ? offset bias mod ?
the amp sounds a tad hi fi sometimes. And there are some stevie ray vaughan and johnny winter tones sometimes, a bit less hendrixy.

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
Thanks!
It is the smallest (that we know of) version of the original Univibe circuit with the real photocells ( carefully tested and paired) and with some of extended features (leslie acceleration, switchable i/o buffer...) you can read all about it in here: http://www.drybell.com/vibe_machine_v1_en.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Amp ('76 JMP 50) is recorded with Zoom H2 and we didn't tweak the audio.. It is pretty much how it sounded in that room.
I wanted to cover some other ground other then Hendrix and add some of my own.. a friend of mine is playing "Let it loose" on vibrato setting and I liked it too
here is the same amp, different guitar: http://www.drybell.com/audio/Telecaster ... achine.mp3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and with the band: http://www.drybell.com/audio/Vibe_Machine_band.mp3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
Sounds good exp69. I like the portability too.
There are not too many out there that have that real "heartbeat" or Leslie effect.
Most come out sounding like a glorified phaser...
I'm sure it sounds crazy good in the room. The vid's make it sound like it's missing something, sounding thin.
So far KR & CC are the closest, but the DVM attractiveness is in it's size and offers good tones.
I'd like to put myself on the next list (after the September list) and I should be ready to pop for one by the end of Sept.

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
I've just ordered the mayer voodoovibe TC. I'm considering replacing the fulltone mdv-2 both because of size and tone.

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
The Mayer seems to fly under the radar a bit, I had a chance to tryo one many years ago and quite liked it. Can't really compare it to other vibes though since it was so long ago.
I have to say that the Castledine really is fantastic...it has the Uni-Vibe "grind" in spades.

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
yes, the mayer seems to be one of the better vibes and now he's offering a smaller version in the TC series. I bought a few mayer TCs now when the euro was low

Re: Best Hendrix Univibe Clone?
Mine. But i rarely use it, more often for the tremolo. Very useable though, lot of tweaks to do on it : most effects ought to feature that much possibilitys. But i prefer to use the megavibe, waaaaaay more hendrixy. i sold immediatly the mini deja vibe, the new creamy one it sucks ! i still keep the dunlop univibe.
Roger Mayer signed it when he came in Paris once. I didn't meet him though.
But the best vibe i'll get will be mine, based on JC maillet's vibe, this guy found everything, they all ( including RG keen too ) get inspiration for their vibes from what he knows. offset bias, cells and bulb analysis , preamp .... so many things. Well explained on the "forum vibe" site, friend of JC.
