+1, You got to be a vulture these days to score some good gear. Just having the cash doesn't do it these days.

This one is from an old electronics manual. It contains many lessons within.

Picked up one of those Radial X -amps yesterday. About $175, but dug out some old pedals I never use and got it down to $60. Automatically takes signal to a low line level for tramping. Seems like a nifty little tool.

Here's how I do it:
I use this little box. It has the Jensen Tx they say was similar to one used in Ed's early load box lineout.
I use this box in two ways:
1) From the computer's audio interface (e.g. MBox) to amp for reamping.
2) From my multi-purpose load box it complete the Jose loadbox/lineout for slaving.

Jose line-out:
Jensen JE-6110-PC transformer and 250k pot. I got the Jensen used off ebay for about half the price of a new one.

Line-out side of the load box:
Left: Ralle line-out with volume control.isolate it from the extension jack.
Middle: Extension jack for the Jose line-out which will be added externally via the connector in the center.
Right: The Egnater/sah5150/RockStah line-out with volume control, with switch to

I think that same Jenson is in the Radial stuff. They mention that with a lot of their products. How do you take signal from your computer. I'm scratching my head on that. Just from the headphone jack? USB interface?
That box looks cool. Is the sah5150 lineout the same as Marks old one?

No, I'm not a pile of carbon next to my amp, in fact, here is the latest with George's last run of chassis: Check out where the screens will connect, thanks Robert! :D

Glad to hear it! I was starting to worry!

Nice looking build you got going on there!

Are those fuse holders you got from me?
I finally found the ones George use to supply (only took three months!)

I've got these ceramic caps and was wondering where I could use them in this build. I know the large square lemco 560 will be golden in the tone stack but what can I do with the rest of these guys? What does .0056m translate to?

The square shaped ones are not ceramics - they are silvered mica caps. I have no idea what Halen's amp had inside, but if it's a 68, then ceramics are highly possible. Earlier amps usually had the micas, 68 and upwards often had either micas or ceramics or a mix of both. IIRC Goerge said that tonewise the ceramics are slightly dirtier (in a good way) than the micas - so it suppsoedly has a noticeable effect on the tone.

oh - the 1000pF and 2000pF might be good for the bright cap - if you will use one and depending on how much you want. Afaik in 68 SL's had a bright cap of up to 5000pF.
