does anyone have a schematic/diagram for adding one of these to an amp, with speaker emulation?

I don't know about the speaker emulation, but if you have a look through some of the more modern Marshall amp schematics on www.schematicheaven.com you might be able to reverse engineer a Line Out or DI that suits your amp.

The 1987x schem has a line out on the 4ohm tap that has a 2k2 resistor on the 4ohm signal, in series with a 100R to ground with a 560R going from the junction of the two to the line out tip.

The Dual Channel JCM800 schem has the line out again on the 4ohm tap with a 1k resistor going to the CCW lug of a 4k7 pot with the wiper on the Line Out jack tip and what looks like a 100R on the tip tor ground.

Those are Line outs. To go DI you need a cab sim.

I saw an interesting amp which had a DI output as a tap on the secondary of the opt. Haven't really seen it anywhere else in guitar opts. Must figure out how it works. It's the kind of gimmicky thing that I love. :)

Practically speaking I think a DI is just a balanced Line, so it shouldn't really be too hard to get there from a line out. But it would require a transistor. Or a transformer.

The Marshall Stufio 15 used a secondary tap on the OT.

However, if I were you I'd just buy a Red Box or the Compensated Behringer DI. Plug it in and you're ready to go.

I've seen the Torres kits for this, and was just thinking I'd like to have my own way of making them as opposed to buying a kit for them - it would make things a lot easier if I started making my own amps as a business, or offering them as optional mods.

Well, you could buy the kit and reverse engineer that. :)
