@ TubeGetter
Mike, is there anywhere a list with the Tungsram data codes in the web, to check from which year they are? Or do you have a data code list?
I've checked all my orig. Tungsram labelled tubes and found 41 different data codes on it, which are as follows:
07D; 1T; 2W; 290; 490; 4H; 58; 6G; 7I; 7T; 73; 8C; 8M; 8Y0; 9T; AT; D4; E2; E7; G1; G8; G9; H1; H5; H90; I8; I90; M6; M8; M9; MY0; O8; R8; RI; SC; T9; TH; X9; Z1; Z70; ZN
Thanks!
Larry

Larry, I got ahold of the original table and then re-did it so it would be easier to read (yeah it took a lot of typing). After that I put it in .pdf format. It's for my tube pages that aren't up yet, but here it is:
http://www.cathedralstone.net/Tubes/TungsramDCTable.pdf
There are some quirks with the codes. Any 3 digit codes such as 8Y0, GY0, H90......any three digit code on a tube with a 0 on the end, the 0 is dropped in the table. So keep that in mind. Also, if you study the codes carefully enough, you'll notice they used the same exact codes in a couple of different years. But it's not a problem figuring out which is the right one for your tube, though. Also, as you can see, upper and lower case do matter.

Where would that code be? I have a "19" stamp on a little metal part under the getter or just above the mica, inside the tube, not on the class..
I see I9 in the chart but not 19????

It doesn't look like yours have Tungsram codes on them. Tungsram labeled Tungsrams are pretty much the only tubes that have the yellow codes on the glass, and they can wear off real easy just like everything else. Sometimes the company that relabeled the tube will have their own codes on them, and you find out the approx. dates from that. The tag numbers inside the tubes aren't date codes......likely some sort of batch number or QC number.

You can't find an original data code on your tubes, because they're RCA labelled and not Tungsram.
The tag inside the tube doesn't say anything of importance.

I have 2 tungsrams, shortgray rca's, philips both GT B and Heerlen , Sylvanias, a mully ecc81 and a sylvania 12at7. Would my best starting point for my 50 watt clone be v1 t ram v2 Gt b mully and V3 Tram I havnt had the chance to test this with a band where things sound different but I'm guessing the tungsram cuts through better in a band setting ? Also do you guys find a tone/feel difference between the GT B mullys and the Heerlen ?
Thanks Scott
Thanks Scott
