Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
Does anyone know if they are actually still in business? I have tried over the course of roughly two months placed over a dozen calls and equal amounts of emails and not one has been answered..In most cases I would just pass on a company that conducts business so poorly but unfortunately I do need their products and like their products, just not the hoops you have jump through.

Current :

DIAZ CD100 HEAD
DIAZ 4X12/V30/4X12 ANGLE W/GREENBACKS

Re: Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
Over the years, communication with SOZO has been dodgy at best in my experience. The times when I have ordered, I received my order fairly quickly. Each time I ordered, I got quite a few capacitors so as to minimize the number of times I had to do business because, like you, I rarely received replies to my emails and that is very off-putting to me. Like you, I choose not to reward companies with my business when they cannot do me the simple courtesy of a timely reply when I am trying to give them my money. Sozos do sound good, but so do other capacitors. It's a shame as I've tried to support Sozo and pleased to have a made in America quality product, but...oh well.
I have some Sozo Nextgens as well as some of the older vintage hand rolleds I can part with if you need them and want to send me a PM. I'll sell them for cost.

There has been some drama in capacitor land. My impression is that Sozo is out of business, but I did not hear that directly from John. FWIW I have been using some Mallorys and some Wimas.

I've heard of a restructuring of business model going on. I might suspect a name change since they are selling caps on ebay for cheap. Can't use the old stock if you are changing the name.
UPDATE, I see they are going to be sold through Antique Electronics.

Probably..
The Micas look like and share the same CDE 1000v datasheet. Just special values.
The sozo were said allegedly to be rebranded Mallory 150 from DrZ.
The Next gens I compaired to Mustards didnt exactly match the physicall shape of the cap it was trying to recreat.

Re: Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
There was a long thread over on the "Amp Garage" discussing the Sozo situation. I can't seem to find it now but this thread over at the "Hoffman Forum" goes over a bit of it...http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=20061.0

Sozo are not re-branded Mallory's, it's even stupid to think that. The leads or body are not even close. Is someone letting Millennials in here. Sozo are awesome sounding. As you can hear in the 3 YouTube videos.RockinRocket wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 6:40 pmProbably..

Ha! Only a millennial would believe the marketing he was sold on.
After the garbage marketing of the new SOZO mica Id have to agree with the tech and DR that the regular SOZOs were rebranded.

Re: Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
Sure they are good but IMO not worth 5x the cost of regular caps.
Its been a couple years since I used them as I've been on a Mustard binge since they are not that much more expensive.
Most of the tone is in the copper leads/thickness anyways. Don't think the Sozo really matched but forget.

Re: Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
I remember reading on a forum years ago that Dr Z had mentioned that Sozos were just rebranded 150's. Every since then the rumor has grown.

Re: Sozo Cap's "HELLO" ????
They are not Mallorys 150. Mallorys are very bright with thin leads, let me say it again they are very bright. The Sozo caps on the videos above are from 2009. If you have any experience with Mallorys and Sozo's then you would know
