NY Chief....

Yep, they have to set an example since I didn't BS them. It still blows.

Got here at 8:30 am, was told to wait until 10 am. Just cooling my heels surfing and being pissed off.

And I'm out. They changed my juror # so many times I forgot what it was.

"We'd like to thank and excuse juror 19."

I start looking around (I was 13, 7, etc), and the judge looks at me and says "That's you."

Woo hoo. I don't miss my NAMM events, meetings, etc. Sheesh!

Glad you got out of there! I have been a few times (never been chosen)... a good reason that you cannot be impartial will never get you early! If that was the case, every one would have a good story! One time this lady told them all her relatives were cops, and that she was convinced that all defendants were guilty... didn't help her... alot of time the jury selection process is the sledgehammer that makes a guilty defendant realize that he better take the plea... all options are up! He waited this long hoping witnesses/evidence would be lost... now it is over! In a weird way, we actually serve a function even if we never get to hear the case...
