12000 build but the PT won't fit!

I bought the 12000 series chassis from Valvestorm and the laydown PT I bought on recommendations won't fit in the cutout. I'll also have to make room for the nuts and bolts holding the PT together. Anyone else ever have this issue with this chassis? I'm just guessing I'll have to widen it up a bit.
