hi all, here is my first post, I have thought of sharing my project here to get more feedback from people who built amps.
circuit is based on orange rockerverb 50, i modified it and added a power attenuation based on screen voltage control for the power tubes, added a mid/tilt tone stack before the power amplifier stage.
amp produces 50watts + as i installed a 70 watt output transformer and used solid state fullwave rectification, so it runs on 450v
here are the pics on my facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 773&type=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
called the amp Menshaar; means table saw, its kinda related to how it sounds on distortion
amp got a clean and distortion modes.
enjoy

Re: my DIY amp in a Fender deluxe chassis
Nice !! I had to log-in to FB to see the pics---- i recently got a Fender Pro JR in a partial trade for a '68 SF Princeton Reverb i rebuilt----- the Pro JR really sounds like crap compared to the SF Princeton Reverb, the two '54 Tweed Deluxes my friend brought over, and all the 5E3-type amps i've built. And most any other amp--- i know there are Bill M. mods but i've had some very great sounding small amps in my shop lately and i don't believe the Pro JR, in any form, is going to cut it. I have an old Oahu 1x12 combo (w/ orig Jensen 12") that i built a version of the 5E3 circuit into--- playing the Pro Jr after playing the Oahu makes me want to kick the Pro Jr across the room---- what a no-tone, boxy piece of crap.
I'm considering doing a gut-and-rebuild to the Pro JR and building a Tweed Deluxe 5D3-based circuit--- my friend's orig one is one of the best sounding small amps i've ever played, sounds better than my Oahu----so i'm glad i'm not the only one completely rebuilding a recent Fender amp.
Table Saw, huh ? I'd like to hear some sound clips----keep building cool amps !!!--
