Hi all!
I like sozo stnd. caps in "splawn-ish" hi-gain amp, but now SoZo has some problems with orders, and I thinking, with what type they can be replaced. Any opinions?
Or, just try brighter caps like 1813 or CD DME?
I'm sorry, but another caps topic

I haven't tried them yet, but I will make a Mouser order soon for CDE WMF series caps. They are a true film and foil construction. Supposed to sound great in amps, from what I've read on the interwebz. I don't know if they will sound bright like the CDE DME. I hope so. Whenever I solder in a Sozo I feel like it robs the amp of gain and tone. Then again, I've got V1a and V1b jumpered together with lead specs like a Bray, it fattens up the sound, so a more articulate cap is preferable in my application.

Okay, MKTs are on my list to try now too. I read somewhere they make good cathode bypass caps.

CDE WMF...I haven't heard them yet, but it may be a good variant.
With 1813 my amp is a lot brighter, edgier, and sound better with KT88
. With sozo I prefer JJ's EL34L.
Tones of two variants of one amp are totally different, but both good. With 1813 amp produce more "modern" sound.
PS: sometimes 1813 looks for me a little steril and lifeless.
