Which ones?
Some of them are not, in a guitar amplifier build. Like the Rikens and Amtrans that I used, for instance.
But the Koa Speers, definitely.

Re: Boutique Resistors
SPR2 and SPR 1/2
Kiwames are just SPR2's and SPR5's, but will cost more.

Re: Boutique Resistors
It's been a couple years, to start with Ill say, worth it? I dunno, if it's fun, sure
.
Bang for the buck for a plexi build I'd say just grab some old pihers off ebay and call it a day.
the takmans just seem too squishy and compressed to me, on the plates anyhow. I guess they are suppose to be like CC without the noise, so maybe they scored in that department. I'm not a big fan of CC resistors, at the very least, not in a Marshall.
While I liked the Amstrans, whatever they are called, best at the time. I actually haven't played them all that much since that amp died shortly after I grabbed a couple so I can't really comment. Like I said, I'm sure they are not worth it unless hacking around with this stuff is fun.
Some one should make something for the middle ground, a upgraded CF style that isn't trying to be a CC that only costs a buck or so a shot. These hifi resistors there's probably a lot of cost and research for qualities that don't really matter in a guitar amp.
