It is 22 AWG 1 conductor shielded PTFE from Apex JR,. It is braided shielded. No part number, just look on the linked page. Good stuff - stiff, but easy to use, I found...erigm wrote:Steve,
What shielded wire did you use, and where did you get it, and what is the part number, and have you had good luck with it, and is it a braided shield or foil with a drain wire?![]()

I know that's a lot of questions, but I need to find a good shielded wire. Thanks for any help!

Oh, you said "troubleshooting". Troubleshooting to me means something isn't working right, so I figured you got it all together, tried it out, and something wasn't right. Did you fire it up yet? How did it sound?sah5150 wrote:Whaddaya mean?erigm wrote:Oh crap, what happened?sah5150 wrote:Finished.... Now the troubleshooting begins...

No, I haven't even plugged it in yet - I forgot to order tubes so I have to wait for a set and I was just too tired to start measuring stuff anyway... I'll save that for when the tubes arrive next week...erigm wrote:Oh, you said "troubleshooting". I've got a variac plugged into an isolation transfomer! I'm ready for anything!jerrydyer wrote:you got that "im about to flip the switch " anxiety? I dont have a variac so for me its always a big rush.
Does the clipping still occur before the tone stack?jerrydyer wrote:I didnt see, but thats a really cool option. last night I added a 15v zener and a 1n4007 to a non cathode following MV. it has 4 gain stages, regular MV with that diode config on a switch.. sounded really good really open and clear.
