tube power amp build (50)

Post by Jeremy1283 » Thu Oct 02, 2014 7:15 pm

I am trying to build a 50 watt two power amp for a slave setup. Has anyone built a small power amp like this? I am still looking for layout and stuff.

You could save yourself a lot of time and trouble and just get a Peavey 50/50 classic. I've tried a lot of power amps from slaving to superleads to S/S Power amps. The Peavey sounds best to my ears but YMMV!

If you need more punch the Classic 100/100, both have resonance knobs to add low end at lower volumes which is nice.

You won't save much if any building your own.

Some have used the newer SLP's effects loop input/return as well. After building a couple of line outs myself the best line out unit I have found that works awesome is the Suhr Line/out, it has it's own level pot for volume/input signal level control and it is transformer coupled like the Jose load/line out Cameron showed, works very well and does not color the tone.
