What kind and what diameter are you guys using on your amp builds?

I think my .031 diameter is a little small what you guys think?

I generally use .031 kester.
Sometimes the bigger stuff just feels too big.

Small is good, clean, and less splattery usually. You can control the feed easier.
Nowadays I use .8mm Kester #50/245 which is 63% tin /37% lead and rosin cored, and very clean in use compared to most solders. Since I've found it, I won't use anything else.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

I use stuff I buy locally which is Weller 60/40 rosin core and 1mm diameter, I should try the Kester but never felt the need. I only use a basic 15w flat bevel tip iron too.
I find that keeping things clean and at the correct temperature (judged by the way the solder melts on the iron to 'prime' it) suits me retty well.
Having said that on a related matter I finally pensioned off my old Butane plumbing torch having discovered the wonders of a new Rothenberger Super-2 Propane torch, self lighting and wow super efficient  .
So maybe a new soldering gun with thermostat and some Kester wire

I like Kester "44" 60/40 in .031, and .050" sizes.
You can get it in a 63/37 blend also.
