it's a toroidal transformer. I prefer to use it in all my aplications instead a classic one. same specifications as original.

Laney have been using toroidal transformers for years. The issue with them is that they do tend to be more susceptible to shorting out than EI transformers (so I hear), however they do have their benefits for guitar amps in that they have less hum from the lower magnetic field radiated. I've used them to good effect in valve OD pedals where they're small and lightweight.
