WHen mounting the PT the chassis has three holes with rubber gromets. the instructions say only run the wires through holes that have gromets. It looks like the instructions show the wires going through only two of the three. Is this the proper way? or should I use all three grometed holes?
and should certain wires go through a certain hole?
Secondly, when should I tie off the 220 and 240 taps, should i do it before mounting the PT are after the wires have been run through the rubber gromets. Do I just cut them off are should I just heat shrink the ends and strap them down?
One more. In step 5c it states
Next locate and twist tightly the two black wires from the PT.
These are the heater wires. They attatch to pins 2 and 7 of the
output tube socket farthest from the preamp tube sockets. The
green wire is the center tap for the heater winding which attatches
to the ground lug on the nearby filter cap.
C A second green wire is the bias winding common tap, It should
also be grounded on a lug.
My PT does not have a second green wire. I have a green with yellow stripes is this the wire that is being refered to?
Also after looking ar the wiring diagram for the Heyboer 100 watt pt on the cd. my pt does not have the same color wires pr . Sencodaries are as follows, 2 blue, 2 black, 1 green, 1 white, 1 yellow, 1 green with yellow stripe. Primary is as stated on the Heyboer PT diagram, Orange, Red, Blue, Violet.
I am totally new to this so any help would be great. Yes I am a totall greenhorn.
