Resistor question
Sorry to hear all the bad news goin' round here. It's very sad. That being said...in the spirit of moving forward with the hopes of keeping this awesome forum going...I have a question. I can't seem to find 1w 1ohm 1% blue metal film resistors anywhere. Can anyone point me in a direction. Is there another suitable resistor for the V4 and V5 bias application. I found a 1w 1ohm 1% cathode resistor (small brown resistor with exact value printed on it). Are these any good for placement on power tube socket for biasing?
Thanks.

Re: Resistor question
Thanks for the input. I checked with antique supply and they have 1/2 watt metal film resistors but no 1 watt metal fim.
Ay other ideas?

Re: Resistor question
1/2 watt is fine for biasing, assuming that's what you need them for. Any type of resistor will do, but you need to find some with low tolerances ideally.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

Re: Resistor question
Thank you so very much for the help. Yes it is for biasing. Would a 2watt low tolerence resistor work as well?

Re: Resistor question
It'll work just fine if you can fit it in. And overspec'd like that the tolerances will be even tighter still under working conditions.

Re: Resistor question
The 1/2 watt resistor have very thin leads. Go to Mouser and use the 3 watt 1ohm 1% they are not big as they soundmade by Vashay. But your rite 1/2 watter will work.
