I had a tech install a master volume and remove the bright cap@c5 my surprise when i open the amp because it still sounds harsh to find that he removed the cap @c6 can anyone tell me what it was and what it did

By my SLP schematic C6 should reduce brigtness but it also reduces gain. Its the cathode bypass cap Ck on V2a. If you asked to snip C5 its very different mod but a somewhat similar result. Its a very common mod to reduce brightness but it is different and not what you asked for. Just clipping C5 isnt really making a huge difference either though. It will reduce the brightness by a degree, sure, but your just reducing the bypass cap on the bright mixer from 590p to 470p. By my schematic for a 1959 SLP anyway.
