Build Order ????

Post by ChuckLogan » Tue May 01, 2007 2:51 pm

I am in the process of replacing my board and I have been reading George's JTM45 instructions and it says to attach the wires to the under side of the board . . then install board into the chassis, and then populate the board . . .

I am thinking it would be easier to populate the board outside of the chassis . . is there a downside to this ???

Was thinking:
Attach all connection wires (underside)
Flip over, install compnents on board
Then install board into chassis

Sound OK?

Sounds fine to me, I always populate the board with both components and wire before it goes into the amp.

Thanks again dude . .

Yeah it's easier to get at the board when it is out.

Thanks

PS - Flames1950 your build work is very clean . . your amps look killer!

im with Andy.
my boards are fully populated and wires attached before they even go near a chassis.
then they go in and out a couple times ( a dry run ) measuring and cutting the wires.
