Just curious as to why the NOS Allen Bradleys' are ony used in certain places and not everywhere on the kit boards?
Thanks

Re: Allen Bradley resistor question
because they have different functions in different positions. how much they distort depends on voltage drop and voltage swing across the resistor. how much noise they add depends on where in the circuit they are placed

Re: Allen Bradley resistor question
I think that I get it but still not sure. The 50w kit comes with Allen Bradley carbon comps as an option. That particular kit has 4 1M .5w Allen Bradley resistors. However, the diagram in the instruction manual index shows regular 1M 1w carbon film resistors being used instead of the Allen Bradley 1M .5w resistors. Why?

Re: Allen Bradley resistor question
Here's a good overview about carbon comp resistors:

Personally, I have found that they are more trouble than they're worth but some people really like them.
