I don't know the theory behind it. I am totally green with amp building. Maybe someone else can explain it. I just got that off the "Metro" CD.

No, the way you're doing it is not "wrong" -- my own builds do it the same way you do.
The way George's picture shows is much more stable however -- the pot will be installed rock solid with support all around. The way you and I have used works fine but the pot does kind of "float" and move a bit when you're adjusting, and probably takes a little vibration when the amp is transported.

I'm pretty sure my bias circuit grounds between the presence and bass pots on most of my builds.

Yeah, I connect the bias ground turrets with a jumper and only use one ground wire for the bias circuit.

People have been claiming that carbon tracks in bias pots can go bad for years. How many Fenders do you see with replaced bias pots? I've yet to see one. Besides, the wiper on that bias pot is all one plate with a lug on each end -- there's nothing to go bad, it's still a solid piece between the turrets.

Darrell,
Dude it is the same. You say toMAYtoe and George says toMAHtoe. The electrical connections are the same. resistor to one lug and the capacitors to ground and other lug. The picture you are posting have the same connections to the pot as Georges method. Also it really seems like you are taking this all personal.

Three lugs are connected to ground -- on a schematic that shows as ONE connection!!! 100-watt schematics also show 100uF caps in the filter sections......huh, all I see on the amp are dual 50's connected together.....wierd.......

Sigh.......Chris, suffice it to say that you're fine.
