Post by planetjimi » Tue Mar 13, 2007 12:34 pm

Got everything but the power cord in.
I'm gonna put the power cord in and go get some lunch. Was hoping someone can take a look at the pics and make sure everything looks OK before I power it up. Thanks -Jimi

Ha , George should include a pack of earplugs with every kit he sells!

Got the amp fired up and checked all voltages everything went really smooth. The tubes aren't matched though. when I measured the drop I got 39, 38, 30, 16  . I swaped the tubes and the readings followed the tubes, so its not the sockets. The amp sounds great, I'm really happy with it. The only thing is when I turn the amp on standby I hear a loud pop. No pop when I turn it on just when I put it back on standby. I thought I read about this somewhere being common and there is a fix for it ... anybody know?
Thanks Jimi

Hey, the pop went away as soon as I put it in the case. Guess it needed the shielding. NICE!!! :D This amp rules. Thanks to everybody who helped me out directly, and indirectly through the archives of posts on this awsome site.
